About ODES

ODES is building uncompromising tools for NewSpace. These are already possible to build with today’s technology and a few simplifications — so we’re building a small team of exceptional, hands-on engineers and scientists to make it happen.

The NewSpace race is real and exciting. From revolutionary research to day-to-day applications that help save lives and our very planet, space technology is already shaping our reality. The promise is vast and greatly unexplored. But our tools do not live up to that promise. Mission failure rates are far too high, while time-to-launch and engineering cost can be drastically cut down. We’re confident our team can tackle any challenge and are set to bring tried-and-true technologies to NewSpace.

About the team

ODES is one small team building one big thing: a web app that aerospace engineers use to design, validate, and operate spacecraft, from early mission analysis through in-orbit operations. Our software engineers build the product across frontend, backend, data, and simulation; our scientists ground it in real spacecraft physics and validation methodology; and our business team carries the work outward—telling the story, building the pipeline, and turning hard engineering into missions that actually fly.

Everyone here builds the same thing, just from a different seat—software, science, and business all shape the roadmap, the next customer, and the next module. When a mission validated on ODES reaches orbit and survives, that’s a win we all own, and you’ll help build it.

About the role

We are looking for a Marketing & Business Development Specialist who thrives at the intersection of technical products and commercial strategy. You understand complex engineering tools and can translate them into compelling narratives for engineers, startup founders, academic researchers, and institutional decision-makers alike.

You work from first principles, move fast, and are comfortable operating with high autonomy in an early-stage environment. You have a bias for action: you’d rather run a scrappy outreach experiment and learn quickly than wait for the perfect campaign brief.

Over the next year, you will focus on building our pipeline from scratch — identifying target customers across Europe and North America, establishing our brand presence in the NewSpace ecosystem, and converting interest into recurring SaaS subscriptions. You will work directly alongside the CEO and will have a front-row seat to every strategic commercial decision at ODES.

Responsibilities

  • Own the commercial outreach pipeline: identify, qualify, and engage prospects across satellite developers, subsystem manufacturers, constellation operators, and academic institutions.
  • Build and execute ODES’s digital presence — website, LinkedIn, conference materials, newsletters — establishing a credible brand identity in the NewSpace market.
  • Develop market intelligence: track competitor positioning, customer pain points, and emerging regulatory or funding trends to keep our strategy sharp.
  • Support the CEO in preparing materials for investor relations, institutional partnerships, and ESA ecosystem engagement.
  • Represent ODES at industry events, conferences, and trade shows — generating leads and building relationships across the European and global NewSpace community.
  • Translate deeply technical product capabilities into compelling, accessible messaging for varied audiences — from CubeSat teams to mission control operators.

Required experience

  • Demonstrated experience in B2B marketing, business development, or sales — ideally in deep tech, aerospace, or engineering software.
  • Strong ability to translate technical complexity into clear, compelling value propositions for non-technical and technical buyers alike.
  • Hands-on experience building and managing digital marketing channels (LinkedIn, email, content) with measurable outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to write crisp, professional copy across formats.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with the space industry, satellite missions, or ESA ecosystem.
  • Experience marketing simulation, MBSE, or mission engineering software.
  • Existing network in European NewSpace, aerospace academia, or institutional space programs.
  • Experience working at an early-stage startup or spin-off where you had to build from zero.

Working at ODES

We’re an early-stage deep-tech startup with solid funding and great advisors. We work fully remotely, with a lab in Athens, GR always open for anyone who needs a dedicated space.

Compensation: ODES is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Compensation is determined based on your qualifications and experience. Our total compensation package also includes generous equity in ODES.

We are an equal-opportunity employer and do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, veteran status, disability or other legally protected statuses.

Interview process

You’ll have a discussion with our CEO about something you built and what we’re set out to achieve. The second stage is a discussion with all three founders — for both us and you to see if we’re a great fit for one another. After that, we’ll go hang and have a good laugh!
